This trip is the perfect welcome and introduction to the highlights of Namibia. It includes visits to the Namib Desert at Sossusvlei, the coastal adventure hub of Swakopmund and the wildlife of Etosha National Park.

It is the perfect trip for first time visitors to Namibia. You can do it as a self-drive safari while camping or staying in lodges. We can also do this tour as a guided safari – you can contact us directly for further information.

We have 3 levels of budget: namely camping, mid-range lodge and luxury lodge self-drive. Our recommended lodges are mentioned in the itinerary below.

Day 1

 

Windhoek

Upon your arrival in Windhoek, take the opportunity to explore the city in the afternoon. Make sure to visit notable landmarks such as the Christuskirche (German Lutheran Church), the Reiterdenkmal (horse rider monument), and the Alte Feste (Old Fort). In the evening, immerse yourself in a true Windhoek experience by having dinner at the legendary Joe's Beerhouse.

Day 2,3

Sossusvlei

Embark on an early departure from Windhoek for a peaceful drive to Sesriem. Once there, take a leisurely stroll through the captivating Sesriem Canyon. Afterwards, immerse yourself in the breathtaking sunset at Elim Dune before making your way to Sossusvlei, where you can witness the stunning sunrise the following morning.

Day 4,5

Swakopmund

As you journey toward Swakopmund, be sure to make a stop at Solitaire, a charming little settlement consisting of a service station, bakery, shop, and an overnight lodge. Their specialty is the most delicious traditional apple pie, a treat you simply can't miss. The drive to Swakopmund offers breathtaking scenery as you pass through the stunning Kuiseb Canyon and Gaob Pass, and traverse the otherworldly moon landscape on your way to Walvis Bay. Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled by the opportunity to spot pelicans and flamingos at the lagoon in Walvis Bay. Consider spending two nights in Swakopmund to fully immerse yourself in the town's charm or to partake in exhilarating desert activities.

Day 6,7

Damaraland

When you leave the coast, consider making a stop at the Cape Cross Seal Colony. It's an incredible sight to see, but be prepared for a strong odor. After that, spend two nights in Damaraland and explore the area. Don't miss the chance to visit the Twyfelfontein Rock Engraving site, the Petrified Forest, Organ Pipes, and Burnt Mountain. If you're lucky, you might even have an unforgettable encounter with a desert elephant.

Etosha National Park

During your two-night stay at Etosha, immerse yourself in the diverse wildlife of the park. You'll have the opportunity to join guided game drives at different camps or embark on a self-drive adventure through the park, ensuring an unforgettable wildlife experience.

Mount Etjo

You can even embark on a thrilling rhino tracking adventure on foot or explore the fascinating dinosaur footprints in the area.
