Etosha Aoba Lodge

Etosha Aoba Lodge is the perfect lodge for a relaxing holiday. After a long day of game drives, relax with a meal under the stars or watch the animals quenching their thirst at the waterhole. The lodge is inside a 34000-hectare game reserve, the Onguma Reserve.

Etosha Aoba Lodge was built along the dry Omuramba Ovambo riverbed close to the thatch-roofed communal area. All bungalows feature a private terrace with seating, bathroom with a shower, mini-safe, bush mini bar, air-conditioning, ceiling fan and tea and coffee making facilities. There are also heaters available in winter.

You can relax next to the swimming pool or have a drink under the thatched roof of the bar. To watch the world go by, you can sit back in the lounge and dining area that overlooks the small waterhole. Facilities

• Eleven well-appointed rooms located along the dry “Omuramba Ovambo” riverbed.
• Three secluded thatched Explorer Bungalows include en-suite facilities, air-conditioning with a private patio.
• The Honeymoon Bungalow shares the same features as the Explorer Bungalows but includes an outdoor shower and bath.
• The four Heritage Bungalows offer privacy and all the comfort for a pleasant stay.
• For families, we offer three Bush Suites which include two bedrooms, one with a day bed and the second with two twin beds.
• An inter-leading bathroom separates the rooms.
• All bungalows have a private terrace with seating, en-suite facilities with a shower, document safe, “bush mini-bar”, air conditioning(heat and cold functions)/ceiling fan and tea and coffee facilities plus large mosquito nets.
• There are a swimming pool and a thatched bar, lounge and guest dining area that overlooks a small active waterhole.
• Free Wi-Fi is available to guests.

Child Policy

• Etosha Aoba Lodge has no fence, therefore no children under seven years are allowed. Guests with young ones can try the Onguma Bush Camp instead.
• Children aged 7-11 years pay the child rates sharing with two full paying adults.
• If there are no child rates indicated, children are not permitted to share in the said room.
• Those aged 12 and above stay in their own room at the full price.
• NB: Game drives are in open safari vehicles.
• Children under ten years are not permitted to undertake game drives in these vehicles.
• Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to partake in walking safaris or rhino walks.

Getting There

Onguma Etosha Aoba Lodge is adjacent to Etosha National Park. As soon as you drive through the gate, you will find yourself in the middle of the African wilderness.

 

It’s easy to find us:
Coming from the east: follow the B1 to the north/Etosha direction, turn left onto C38, and you will reach the lodge after 25 km directly on the right-hand side of the Etosha gate. Then, just follow the signs for 13 km along a natural bush road, and you will find the lodge.

Coming from the west: leave Etosha at von Lindequist Gate. You immediately turn left into the Onguma Reserve and follow the signs. You will find the lodge after 13 km of natural bush road.

 

Private Airstrip
Onguma Etosha Aoba Lodge has its private airstrip. We transfer our guests in open game drive vehicles and even the 20-minute journey to the lodge is an opportunity to see some game!
