Onguma Forest Camp

Onguma Forest Camp is along the dry Omuramba Ovambo riverbed close to the thatch-roofed communal area. All bungalows feature a private terrace with seating, a bathroom with a shower, mini-safe, mini bush bar, air-conditioning, ceiling fan and tea and coffee-making facilities. There are also heaters available in winter.

You can relax next to the swimming pool or drink under the bar's thatched roof. You can sit in the lounge and dining area overlooking the small waterhole to watch the world go by. Come and enjoy the luxury comforts of Onguma Forest Camp and relax within the natural wilderness surrounding you.

Onguma Forest Camp is unfenced; no children under seven years will be allowed. Children 7 to 11 years of age sharing with adults pay children’s rate. Children 12 and above will be in a family room at the total rate. Game drives are on open safari vehicles, so children under ten years cannot join game drive vehicles for safety reasons.

Facilities

• Eleven well-appointed rooms are located along the dry “Omuramba Ovambo” riverbed.
• Three secluded thatched Explorer Bungalows include en-suite facilities, air-conditioning, and a private patio.
• The Honeymoon Bungalow shares the same features as the Explorer Bungalows but includes an outdoor shower and bath.
• The four Heritage Bungalows offer privacy and all the comfort for a pleasant stay.
• For families, we offer three Bush Suites, including two bedrooms, one with a day bed and the second with two twin beds.
• An inter-leading bathroom separates the rooms.
• All bungalows have a private terrace with seating, en-suite facilities with a shower, document safe, “bush mini-bar”, air conditioning(heat and cold functions)/ceiling fan and tea and coffee facilities, plus large mosquito nets.
• A swimming pool, a thatched bar, a lounge and a guest dining area overlooks a small active waterhole.

• Onguma Forest Camp has no fence. Therefore no children under six are allowed. Guests with young ones can try the Onguma Bush Camp instead.
• Children aged 7-11 years pay the child rates for sharing in family rooms only.
• Those aged 12 and above stay in their room at the total price.
• NB: Game drives are in open safari vehicles.
• Children under ten years are not permitted to undertake game drives in these vehicles.

Dinner under the Stars:
Private Bush dinners are available for 1-9 people at a surcharge of N$850.00 per person. Bush Dinners are available if your stay includes a dinner option. Should your group exceed 6, please consider booking our Boma Evening.

Getting There

Onguma Forest Camp is adjacent to Etosha National Park. As soon as you drive through the gate, you will find yourself in the African wilderness.

It’s easy to find us:
Coming from the east: follow the B1 to the north/Etosha direction, turn left onto C38, and reach the lodge after 25 km directly on the right-hand side of the Etosha gate. Then, follow the signs for 13 km along a natural bush road and find the lodge.

Coming from the west: leave Etosha at von Lindequist Gate. You immediately turn left into the Onguma Reserve and follow the signs. You will find the lodge after 13 km of natural bush road.
