Ongava Lodge

Ongava Lodge is perched on a hilltop in the Ongava Game Reserve. Because of the supreme location, Ongava Lodge has a commanding view of the surrounding bush and an active waterhole. It's easy to see why this is the most talked-about of all the Ongava accommodation options. Ongava Reserve borders on the southern edge of Etosha National Park. The lodge is only 30 minutes drive from Okaukuejo Camp.

A key feature is the rooms' glass doors that lead out onto a private, covered veranda overlooking the Ongava bush. The chalets have all been built out of brick and natural materials such as rock and thatch. The beautiful en-suite bathrooms have a shower and double basins. All the rooms have air-conditioners so guests can keep cool in summer.

Shared Experiences

From the main area, there are great views over the waterhole. This is a fantastic area where guests can enjoy dinner in the main dining area or outside under the stars. Additionally, this waterhole is the perfect location for tripod photography. It is not uncommon to see some elephants or rhinos while dining.

Activities at the Ongava conservancy include day and night game drives and guided nature walks. Guests can see some of what the reserve does at Ongava’s Research Center Visiting Hub. In addition, you can combine your experience at this prestigious private game reserve with a visit to the Etosha National Park.

Private Activities

• The private activity service includes all the standard activities in the camp, be it guided walks or game drives.
• Only applicable on a Fully Inclusive basis, not on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis.
• The group size of a booking is not a guarantee for exclusive use. If guests want to have a guaranteed private vehicle and guide, please book and charge accordingly.
• You can enjoy the afternoon activity on the day of arrival and the service ends with the morning activity on the day of departure.
• Private vehicles are only bookable for consecutive days of your stay. For instance, a private activity on DAY 1 and then again on DAY 3 cannot be allowed, so DAY 2 has to be booked as well. If this is not the case it negatively impacts the lodge scheduling the guides, resulting in unsatisfactory service.
