Olifantsrus Camp

INFONOTE

Olifantsrus Camp is the newest campsite in Etosha National Park. Its located in the northwestern part of the park between Okaukuejo and Dolomite Camp. There are ten campsites, and a maximum of 8 people can stay on one site. Significantly, there are numerous waterholes around Olifantsrus Camp, which means its excellent for game viewing. For the most part, it's very popular with local travellers who prefer camping.

Olifantsrus is a campsite only since there's no accommodation available. There are numerous chalet accommodation options in the Etosha National Park; for instance, Okaukuejo to the east and Dolomite Camp to the west is the closest camp to Olifantsrus.

In detail, Olifantsrus Campsite is about 130km from Okaukuejo, 50 km from Dolomite Camp and 60km from the Galton Gate.

Guests can get up close to the animals because of the hide that overlooks an artificial waterhole. The hide offers a safe game viewing opportunity in a second story hut with glass windows, perfect for cold or windy weather. Getting to the hide is easy because a wooden walkway takes you to the campsite.

There are ten campsites with power points. There are no braai facilities at this stage, but there are fireplaces on the ground. (Guests need to bring their own braai grids etc.)

In short, Olifantsrus has everything a dedicated camper is looking for but no luxuries.
